From Trash to Treasure
Hi! I’m Emily, the proud owner of Nook & Cranny Book Wagon! It all started in October 2024 when I stumbled upon a rusty, broken-down horse trailer on Facebook Marketplace—no title, a flat tire, and basically just a $1,000 hunk of metal. While most people saw junk, I saw potential. I’d always dreamed of running a mobile business, and as a book-loving mom and former teacher, the idea hit me—why not turn it into a rolling children’s bookshop? And so, the adventure began, transforming a rusty old trailer into a cozy, story-filled bookshop on wheels!
Paint, Panels & Patience
Luckily, my dad was up for the challenge and helped with the renovations! Together, we tore the trailer down to its bones—gutting the interior, stripping the walls, sanding years of wear off the exterior, and laying down brand-new flooring. Between tackling stubborn rust and making (what felt like) endless repairs, it was a true labor of love. But, every step brought us closer to turning this old trailer into something special. Fun fact: Our trailer actually features reclaimed wood from Reno’s beloved Sundance Bookstore!

From Untitled to Street Ready
Renovating the trailer was just one part of the adventure! Behind the scenes, I tackled a mountain of paperwork, from securing a bonded title and registration to making sure it had the right business license and insurance. While the process truly tested my patience, every form signed and box checked brought me one step closer to hitting the road!
